Privacy Policy and GDPR Compliance:
Redruth Massage & Movement Clinic complies with the most up-to-date Data Protection Policy as set out in the General Data Protection Regulation. The business is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office, and Heather Venables, Clinic Owner, is appointed as the Data Controller for the Business.
Redruth Massage & Movement Clinic collects personal data, including contact details and medical history, to assess suitability of treatment, to complete appropriate treatment, to contact clients regarding follow-up appointments, and for referrals to GPs and/or other healthcare practitioners, if deemed necessary.
All information held will be treated as strictly confidential and will only be released to a third party with consent of the client.
If a client refuses to allow for a GP referral, Redruth Massage & Movement Clinic reserves the right to refuse treatment until such time as the information needed to provide a safe treatment is obtained. Please see Booking and Treatments section for further details.
Consultation forms and treatment notes will be held securely by Redruth Massage & Movement Clinic in line with GDPR regulations for a minimum of 7 years, or in the case of minors, indefinitely. Data will only be viewed by clinic staff to ensure continuity of care is given and for standard clinic running purposes.
Any person under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. The parent/guardian must give permission for the treatment to be performed and will be required to co-sign the client’s consultation form. They must be present in the room throughout the entire treatment.
Under data protection law, you have rights including:
Your right of access – You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.
Your right to rectification – You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.
Your right to erasure – You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.
Your right to restriction of processing – You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
Your right to object to processing – You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
Your right to data portability – You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.
You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
